Germany – TV Wunschliste – History Channel orders Sons of Liberty miniseries

Five legendary Americans are the focus of a new miniseries ordered by the History Channel. “Sons of Liberty” will span six hour-long episodes and will follow a group of rebellious young men who would go on to become the Founding Fathers of the United States. Production will begin this summer and the cast has already been cast.

Ben Barnes (“The Chronicles of Narnia”) embodies Sam Adams, a born leader full of charisma who has a penchant for rebellion. Ryan Eggold ( “The Blacklist” ) plays the doctor of integrity Joseph Warren. Michael Raymond-James ( “True Blood” ) slips into the role of veteran Paul Revere. Rafe Spall (“Prometheus”) plays John Hancock, then the richest man in all of Boston, and Henry Thomas (“Legends of the Passion”) will embody conservative lawyer John Adams. Then there is “Breaking Bad” veteran Dean Norris will play none other than rebellious diplomat Benjamin Franklin.

“Sons of Libery” is produced by Stephen David Entertainment and A+E Studios. The book is by Stephen David himself and by David C. White ( “The Great Departure – The Pioneers of America” . Directed by Kari Skogland ( “Boardwalk Empire” , “Vikings” ).
“From the Boston Tea Party to the Declaration of Independence, ‘Sons of Liberty’ will tell the rebellious story of America’s greatest struggle for freedom,” History Channel’s Dirk Hoogstra said in a statement. “Adams, Hancock and Revere are famous names from our history books. ‘Sons of Liberty’ will bring their stories to life.” History recently commissioned another mini-series about a revolution, “Texas Rising”, which is also scheduled to be broadcast in 2015
