The US broadcaster NBC continues to rely on its former ratings hit “The Blacklist” and has the spin-off that was tested last week Ordered The Blacklist: Redemption . In it, the character of Tom Keen ( Ryan Eggold ) is transplanted into a new series. It’s after for NBC “Chicago Justice” ( Wunschliste.de reported ) the second spin-off order as part of Upfronts 2016.
The spin-off was written by Blacklist creator Jon Bokenkamp and executive produced by John Eisendraht and directed by Michael Dinner. The backdoor pilot was shown as part of The Blacklist series last Thursday. The character of Susan “Scottie” Hargrave ( Famke Janssen ), who also migrated to the offshoot of the series, was introduced in the episode before – both episodes had better ratings than the last average for “The Blacklist“.
Scottie is the brilliant and devious leader of the Gray Matters organization . The secret mercenary group takes on problems that governments would rather not take on. As established on “The Blacklist” by Raymond “Red” Reddington ( James Spader ) and Elizabeth Keen ( Megan Boone ), Scottie is a new mentor to Tom. The bond between the two is cemented as Scottie offers orphaned and life-disoriented Tom a unique connection to his past…
Other leading roles have Edi Gathegi as Matias Solomon and Tawny Cypress as Nez Rowan.
According to Deadline , the negotiations between NBC and Studio Sony Pictures TV also took longer for this series order because NBC wanted to secure further “stacking rights”: the right to be able to offer five episodes online as a catch-up service instead of five, to offer all broadcast episodes of the season online.
