Emmys

Next Thursday (July 12, 2018) at 5:30 p.m. Central European Summer Time, the time has come again: The American Academy of Television Arts & Sciences will publish the nominations for the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards . As usual, she enlisted two actors to read the nominations for the main categories on the live stream, this time choosing Samira Wiley and Ryan Eggold .

As every year, the choice is not entirely accidental, because the US network that broadcasts the primetime Emmy show each year can accommodate its own favorites – this year it’s NBC. Eggold, who was last at “The Blacklist” and its own spin-off “The Blacklist: Redemption” already worked for NBC, will appear on the network in the fall with the new hospital series “New Amsterdam” on.

Last year, the series picked up eight Emmys – the most for a drama series that year. Also this year she can hope for a top place in the ranking of nominations and prizes.
The 70th Primetime Emmy Awards will be presented in the US by NBC on Monday September 17 (NBC shows top-rated football in its “typical” Sunday night slot). Colin Jost and Michael Che will then lead the show as co-hosts. Both belong to the current ensemble of “Saturday Night Live” .

The weekend before the big, televised ceremony (September 8 and 9, 2018), the winners of additional categories in the so-called Creative Arts Emmys will be announced in two ceremonies.

It has not yet been confirmed who will broadcast the Emmys in German-speaking countries – the pay-TV broadcaster TNT Serie had secured the rights in recent years.

The nominations for the 70th Primetime Emmys can also be streamed from Germany on Thursday via the official Emmys website, emmys.com/noms
